Luciano Spalletti has updated about the injured players and shrugged off the rumours linking Rennes play-maker, Yann M’Vila, to Petrovsky stadium this summer
News in Russian media suggested that Zenit St. Petersburg have lodged a formal bid for Rennes defensive midfielder, Yann M’Vila, and the French footballer is likely to join the Russian outfit for a fee of 6 million Euros.
However, Luciano Spalletti has distanced Zenit with the speculation linking the 22-year-old to Petrovsky stadium during the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Italian tactician, who confirmed an interest in signing Barcelona’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299, has hinted at signing a defender this summer as a cover to the injury-prone defenders in
the squad.
And with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bruno-Alves-c8108 likely to leave the St. Petersburg club this summer, Spalletti has decided not to rely upon the injury-prone defenders.
Spalletti knows that it will be tough to retain the Russian Premier League title this season, despite making a few additions to his squad this summer.
Zenit’s boss made these comments after publically indicating that the Meshki are lacking defensive quality in the squad.
The former Udinese coach went on to urge his side to win the upcoming league tie against Rubin Kazan. Spalletti revealed that the Russian outfit is struggling defensively.
“Rubin are an awkward opponent for anyone. This is one of those teams that has every opportunity to fight for the top places in the league. Rubin always plays in an organized and well manner no matter what tactical model they chose.”
“This is a team that runs, put some pressure on the opponents early on, creative and able to create and come up with something new. I know we do not have enough players. So, we will try to strengthen our defence.” The Russian Cup
