http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bruno-Alves-c8108 has lamented defeat against Terek Grozny and has assured the fans of returning as victorious after the upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Malaga CF
Zenit St. Petersburg will kick start their UEFA Champions League campaign after going head to head with Malaga CF at Estadio La Rosaleda on Tuesday, prior to hosting AC Milan at Petrovsky stadium on 3rd October, 2012.
Bruno Alves has insisted that his side has a wonderful chance to forget about their latest defeat in the Russian Premier League against Terek Grozny after winning the upcoming group stage match against the Spanish club.
The St. Petersburg club have now dropped down to the 4th spot on the league table after suffering their second defeat of the ongoing campaign. Alves believes that Zenit will alter the situation after winning the European
tie and returning to Russia as victorious.
However, the Portuguese stopper threatened his side against the in-form striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Saviola-c18090, saying that the Argentine forward will use all his past European experience in the coveted tournament.
Malaga signed Saviola along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Cazorla-c32505 and Salomon Rondon to Arsenal FC and Rubin Kazan.
“Yes, I know him. I played against him in the championship of Portugal. He is a good striker with terrific techniques in general. But I think Zenit have enough strength and skill to stop him to score.” The Russian Cup winner was
quoted as saying.
And while most of the football analysts think Zenit and AC Milan will progress to the later stages of the tournament, Alves warned his side against complacency, saying that they should not underestimate the ambitious Spanish outfit.
“I think Malaga are a good with a decent squad. They have made noticeable additions to the squad this year. They deserved to play in the Champions League after their decent run of play.”
“We are not particularly happy with our recent results but still have a good chance to return to St. Petersburg as victorious.” He concluded.
Zenit have been drawn against AC Milan, Malaga and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RSC-Anderlecht-c40394 in the group stages of the tournament.
