Zenit St. Petersburg’s Luciano Spalletti happy with the transfer campaign: Russian Premier League
Zenit St. Petersburg head coach, Luciano Spalletti, has revealed that he is happy with the business conducted by the Bomzhi during the transfer window. Spalletti highlighted that the Meshki are in good shape and need to work hard in order to claim positive
results in the remaining matches of the season.
The former AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 tactician was speaking to the media ahead of Zenit’s upcoming Russian Premier League encounter against Lokomotiv Moscow away from home.
Zenit have been less active in the summer transfer window but the former Udinese boss bears no grudge against the owners, and revealed that he believes in quality rather than quantity in the squad.
The capture of Domenico Criscito from Genoa CFC is the only major signing of the club during the transfer window. The Italian coach is satisfied with the business and gave the example of the UEFA Champions League winners, Barcelona FC. Spalletti highlighted
that the Catalans managed to sign only two players in the current transfer window. La Liga champions signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 from Udinese and Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal FC.
“We are a strong team playing quality football at the moment. Barcelona are a team that have won almost everything that is possible, but in the transfer window, they signed Sanchez and Fabregas only. Everyone loves to talk about Gazprom money, but in the
four windows, we did not sign too many players. In the recent window, we bought one player. If there is an opportunity to reinforce the Zenit, we will do it.  But again, we have a very strong team. I am happy with the players that I have in my squad.” The
Italian tactician was quoted as saying.
Since the appointment of Jose Couceiro as Lokomotiv Moscow head coach, the Lokhi have played six league games. The Parovozy have claimed twelve points from their last six league encounters, having scored 9 goals without letting in a single strike. Spalletti
admitted that Lokomotiv are playing better defensively and hoped to stretch their defence in the upcoming league meeting.
