Lombaerts was booked on the 72nd minute mark during the match for an arguably poor challenge on the Myaso goal keeper.

Speaking on the match event, Lombaerts revealed that the match official was a bit harsh in giving him a yellow card in the second period.
The UEFA Cup winner expressed his frustration over the accusations and insisted that he is not guilty. Lombaerts revealed that Spartak are overreacting and admitted that the culture in Russian football needs to develop.
“First I do not understand why they are appealing to punish me. The referee showed me a yellow card and that is it. I didn’t hit the goalkeeper intentionally and there was no rudeness on my part.” The Belgian midfielder was quoted as saying.
