The former FC Dmitrov man has expressed his opinion on the growing problems at CSKA Moscow and has urged the Moscow-based club to improve next
Former Uralan Elista defender, Maksim Bokov, has congratulated Zenit St. Petersburg upon retaining the Russian Premier League title this season, insisting that the Meshki deserved to win the Russian championship
after putting in so much hard work.
Zenit confirmed themselves as champions after winning the league tie 2-1 against Dynamo Moscow, last month.
The fact that the St. Petersburg club managed to win their third league title in five years pleases Bokov, who has urged the Russian giants to amuse the audience by displaying quality football.
Not many people will believe that Zenit were twelve points behind CSKA Moscow during the second league round, after seeing the league table now. The Armeytsy dominated the league table for majority of the season.
However, the Moscow-based club failed to retain their place after a nightmare start to the third league round. Zenit leapfrogged the Army-men in November and went on to stretch their lead atop the league table.
“Zenit failed to start the Russian Championship on a high node particularly because of the injured players. But they proved themselves as the deserving candidates after turning the tables.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as
saying.
Bokov heaped praise on the Bomzhi, admitting that they kept their composure and discipline despite having a lot of injured players in the treatment room.

Speaking on CSKA performances, Bokov conceded that injuries affected the Moscow-based club’s season too. The Russian tactician revealed that the Koni would have secured UEFA Champions League qualification had they defeated Rubin
Kazan in the last match of the season.
“I have never seen a team that is fighting for a place in the Champions League, playing so badly in a key match.” Bokov said
CSKA have now qualified for UEFA Europa League after suffering 3-1 defeat against Rubin Kazan at Tsentralnyi stadion.
