Zenni optical LOOK!?

has anyone ever gone to or ordered from zennioptical.com?

They have really cheap, but good quality glasses, starting at 8 bucks. What is your opinion of zenni optical?

I have ordered from Zenni Optical a few times.  I like them because they are inexpensive.  The quality is decent for the price.  The order can take up to a month to receive.  I usually wear contacts, so I did not want to pay very much for eyeglasses that I would use as a backup when needed.

Add: The optician and optometrist who also posted to answers to this question are correct that you get what you pay for.  If you are going to wear the eyeglasses full time, then you may want to have your prescription done at your optometrist's  or Optician's office.  I usually wear a contact lens in my left eye and my right eye has normal vision.  I do not wear my eyeglasses very often so I did not really care about the quality all that much.

As an optician, these sights scare me to death! When you go to an optician, you have someone to double check everything and make sure that prescription is correct, on line you have no one. High quality for $8.00? It's not going to happen! I see the wholesale prices of frames and lenses, and $8.00 in WHOLESALE will not get you very far.

Also, in this economy I know we are all trying to cut back a little, but your eyes are not the place to do it. You only get one pair and if you mess them up by wearing the wrong lenses, your going to be upset about it.

Support your local optometrist, believe it or not, they are struggling also!

As with everything, you get what you pay for.  $8 glasses are junk.  The biggest problem I have with these places is what happens when the glasses are wrong.  This is usually because the place made them incorrectly (big surprise, I know), but patients go back to the eye doctor and complain and make them try to fix it.  Thankfully I haven't had anyone do this to me, but if they came to me to troubleshoot their internet glasses I'd promptly show them the door.
