Zerlynn Tiang acquires Girls 100m butterfly gold – MILO National Schools Swimming Championships
Zerlynn Tiang of ACJC acquired gold medal of the 100m butterfly in Division-A of Girls 16-19 Year Olds age category at the 53rd MILO National Schools Swimming Championships in Singapore on April 25.
Tiang, who entered the final round as top contender for gold medal, met expectations of her supporters by clinching gold medal of the 100m event.
She sprinted her way towards the finishing wall for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 03.37 seconds.
Her stupendous effort remained almost three seconds faster from Boon Yin Annis Loy of TJC, who proved her mettle for silver medal of the event by posting a time of 1 minute and 06.92 seconds.
Loy was followed by h*i Min Anissa Lye of RI, who stayed 1.83 seconds slower from the second position holder and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 08.75 seconds for bronze medal.
Fourth position of the discipline was secured by Jia Le Isabel See, who stayed almost six seconds away from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 14.69 seconds.
See was chased by Min Min Ng of ACJC, who was much slower from her former finisher and clocked a time of 1 minute and 29.91 seconds for fifth position.
In the meantime, h*i Yu Koh of RI grabbed gold medal of the 200m Individual medley in the equivalent category. Koh dictated terms to her challengers in the four-lap event as she reached the podium for gold medal in a time of 2 minutes and 22.89 seconds.
With her stunning performance, she remained almost twelve seconds faster from Li Wen Cherie Sim of HCI, who earned silver medal of the event with the timing of 2 minutes and 34.32 seconds.
Third position of the discipline was secured by Ting Yi Chan, who stayed four seconds behind and produced a time of 2 minutes and 38.31 seconds.
Similarly, Min Min Ng ended her swim in fourth place by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 58.31 seconds.
In addition, the position holders collected awards and accolades for their notable efforts after the session.
