Question:

Zero tolerance? What is this?

My learner's permit book says it is "a law that makes it illegal for youth under 21 to drive with a blood alcohol content of .02 or higher."

Does this mean that if you are under 21, you can still drink alcohol (a little bit at that) and drive? How much beer would it take to give you a .02 alcohol level in your blood?

  1. Trust me at .02 BAC you will not even feel a buzz, its just past the sensitivity of the breathalizer to even detect the slightess amount of alcohol.

Zero tolerance means in Texas you'll go to jail, if you are a minor and the cop detects any alcohol on your breath.

  2. Zero tolerance means you're not allowed to drink first. You can chew gum or use hand sanitizers that will make you register a BAC on a Breathalyzer test.

Depending on your weight and other facts, one beer will give you a BAC of .02.

  3. Not much...........probably less than one beer, depending on your weight, etc.

Not worth risking your whole future over, for sure.

  4. well its about 1 beer but it depends on hight and weight... if ur a girl its maby a half... lol

  5. That means that even if you have 1 beer and drive you are considered altered as opposed to an adult "allowance" that will let an experienced driver have 2.5 drinks (on average) before a random breath test proves them impaired. The real issue with underage drinking and driving is you are breaking 2 laws one that states you are not of legal drinking age and the 2nd which proves you are legally drunk. Bottom line - don't risk it. Good Luck!

  6. you dont need to drive and drive. about a beer or two depending on weight and how many a hour
