Zhang, '09 Worlds?

Question

Is Caroline eligible for this year's Worlds?

Or is she still young and qualify next year?

Worlds is in LA, my hometown, and where I live now is not far away. 40 min - 1 hour, if you consider where past Worlds were... (All over the world!"

I wouldn't want to miss this chance, but I don't want to go if she isn't going. Should I ask her myself?

Zhang is born in 20.05.1993, by ISU rules a skater needs to be 15 by the 1st of May 2008 in order to skate in 2009 worlds. Caroline turns 15 nineteen days later, which means she is not elligible to compete at 2009 worlds.

On the other hand Rachel Flatt is born 21.07.1992 and if she qualifies at Nationals will be able to go to 2009 Worlds.

I believe the date is July 1st.  Rachael Flatt was born July 21st, 1992. The commentors even stated she was only 20 days late. (Or this might have been regarding Mao Asada and Torino, I'm sory my mind is full of info.)  All three were sent to Junior Worlds despite grabbing the top three senior spots at nationals due to age. This year Rachael, Caroline, and Mirai are all eligible for Senior Worlds in LA. I believe they all have a strong chance, they simply need clean skates at nationals.

You are very lucky. I've never been to an elite figure skating competition. I'm saving up for a trip to Vancouver in two years, however if I could afford  it I'd fly to LA. I'd love to see Caroline's fabulous spins live, and get the autographs of all the seniors attending. My advice is to buy tickets asap, because despite the prices, worlds is always a popular event. And being it's in America, in one of the biggest cities, I bet it'll be popular.

Well she is eligible to go, but she would have to get either 1st or 2nd at U.S Nationals in January. The U.S can only send 2 ladies to worlds in 2009

I sure will be there, and hope Caroline is there to.

The date is JULY 1st. not May.

Kimmie and Bebe MIGHT be able to go. again, it all depends on Nationals 2009, held in January. The top two ladies there go. no matter who they are. (if they are over 15, which all of the contenders are).
