Such a shame. I was really pulling for Zheng. I've never been a fan of Serena. If she missed the tape do you think Zheng had the momentum to take the match?

  1. Poor Zheng. She had a set point and unloaded on that backhand which didn't go over. I believe Zheng was highly capable of taking it to a 3rd and even winning it! She played very well and I'm so happy that she made it to the semi finals. I hope to see more of her name in the future. She had made an amazing breakthrough for Chinese athletes and deserves to be commended.

  2. I don't think so, Zheng played well since first round but it was not good enough to defeat Serena.

  3. Absolutely not. Even if u hate serena, understand zheng never had a chance. Momentum only matters if the players are close in talent.

  4. na, i am not a big fan of serena either, but i think if it went 3 sets, the result would be the same.

  5. I doubt it!!! I just had an argument with my dad while watching the match. He was saying Zheng really give Serena a lot of problems. I disagreed because in all but two of her service games, Serena kept dominating, never giving Zheng a chance. I believe the multiple rain delays plus the fact that Serena really wanted to finish the match before the rains came, is what helped Zheng back into the second set. Serena started to make more unforced errors but her serve held up throughout the match. Had Zheng won that second set, I believe Serena would have easily won the third set.

  6. Zheng gave it her all and I am really happy for her but I think after the first set Serena eased up off the gas and let Zheng back into the game.  Zheng is a good doubles player so she is talented and I am happy the English guys let her into Wimbledon instead of packing the games with their losers.  I hope because of Zhengs performance they will start using great non seaters in the sport instead of using it for English players only.

  7. i was pulling for her too :(

Zheng had it going for her in the second set

if she had won the tiebreaker, she may have been able to take it

back here at the US Open, watch out!

  8. Sorry buddy almost doesn't count!!! Go Serena!!!!!!!!!!

  9. why is it a shame? she was lucky to begin with being a wildcard and all! i think it waws a good fair match
