Zheng Yanan wins Women’s 100m freestyle semi-final heat: 2011 Chinese National City Games
The final session of the 2011 Chinese National City Games conducted several semi-final heats in Nanchang, China, on Friday, October 21. Zheng Yanan took home the Women’s 100m freestyle semi-final event, whereas, Xu Jiayu claimed Men’s 200m back-stroke semi-final
race. In addition, Fan Rong won Women’s 200m breast-stroke semi-final heat, while Wang Shun won Men’s 200m Individual Medley semi-final meet.
Zheng Yanan thrashed her rivals Wang Bing and Yubei Yao by hitting the finishing wall in a stunning time of 55.61 seconds to win the Women’s 100m freestyle semi-final heat. In the meantime, Wang Bing was placed second in a time of 55.76 seconds and Yubei
Yao settled for third place in a mark of 55.86 seconds. Ye Shiwen was surprisingly placed sixth with a time of 56.12 seconds.
On the other hand, Xu Jiayu won Men’s 200m back-stroke semi-final event by posting a thrilling time of 2 minutes and 01.34 seconds. Zhang Fenglin earned second place honours by submitting a mark of 2 minutes and 02.71 seconds, while Lin Yongqing settled
for third place in a time of 2 minutes and 02.71 seconds.
In addition, the Women’s 200m breast-stroke semi-final event was taken over by Fan Rong with a thrilling time of 2 minutes and 29.32 seconds. In the meantime, Wang Shun claimed Men’s 200m Individual semi-final heat by hitting the finishing wall in a time
of 2 minutes and 02.19 seconds. Mao Feilian earned second position in the respective heat by posting a time of 2 minutes and 04.23 seconds, while Li Xiang settled for third spot after he touched the finishing wall and ended his swim in a time of 2 minutes
and 04.88 seconds.
Nanchang’s crowd was immensely impressed due to the entertaining swims of all athletes in their respective meets, while the best swimmers were honoured with medals and accolades after the end of the session.
The 2011 Chinese National City Games have been offering a thrilling opportunity to all young guns of China to prepare themselves hard for their upcoming meets of competitive swimming.
