Zhou Yanxin wins Women’s 200m back-stroke title: Day two – 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals
Zhou Yanxin produced a thrilling swim to stun the arena on day two of the 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals, in Rizhao, China, on Friday, September 23. Zhou Yanxin secured gold medal in Women’s 200m back-stroke final heat.
In other races, Zhang Bin earned golden crown in the Men’s 50m butterfly race, whereas, Zhao Jin picked gold title in the Women’s 100m breast-stroke event. Meanwhile, Huang Chao secured golden crown in the Men’s 200m breast-stroke race, while Shanghai won
the Women’s 400m medley relay title on the podium.
In the Women’s 200m back-stroke final heat, Zhou Yanxin came out strongly and clinched the race by posting a winning time of 2 minutes and 10.62 seconds. In the corresponding swim, Zhu Jiani took home silver title on the podium by submitting an impressive
time of 2 minutes and 10.99 seconds. Meanwhile, Wen Jiang snared bronze medal after she touched the finishing wall and ended her swim to submit a matchless time of 2 minutes and 12.40 seconds.
The Women’s 400m medley relay crown was clinched by Shanghai team with a triumphant mark of 4 minutes and 02.76 seconds. In the corresponding splash, Shandong club secured silver medal on the podium by submitting a striking time of 4 minutes and 04.51 seconds.
Meanwhile, Zhejiang team took home bronze title of the platform by posting a matchless time of 4 minutes and 04.54 seconds.
Next, Zhang Bin powered the finishing wall in 23.97 seconds to win the Men’s 50m butterfly title, while Zhao Jin took home the Women’s 100m breast-stroke title by posting a winning mark of 1 minute and 08.09 seconds. Moreover, Huang Chao hit the finishing
wall in 2 minutes and 10.37 seconds to win the Men's 200m breast-stroke crown.
All the participants put forward their best effort in an attempt to clinch the title in their respective meets. The arena gave a huge round of applause to all the athletes owing to their riveting swims and the victorious were awarded medals and accolades
after the session’s completion.
