The legendary footballer has congratulated Los Blancos on having an extraordinary campaign this season.
Retired veteran and Real Madrid’s Sporting Director, Zinedine Zidane, has expressed that he is thoroughly impressed by the current season’s exploits of the Spanish giants.
Zidane was full of praise for the Spanish capital-based football club as he appreciated the way the Whites have performed throughout the current season’s campaign.
The former World Player of the Year pointed out that Los Vikingos have finally brought an end to Barcelona’s dominion over Spanish football and went on stating that the team also managed to break a number of records which is a remarkable feat.
The man, who also had the opportunity to represent the nine-time European Champions during his playing days, maintained that the players at the Santiago Bernabeu outfit have every reason to be proud of their achievement.
Jose Mourinho’s men were able to secure their 32nd Spanish La Liga title this term as they firmly established themselves as a destructive force in the Iberian Peninsula.
Not only were the footballing juggernauts successful in claiming the Spanish Primera Division’s crown, they also managed to break a number of records during the season’s proceedings.
Winning a total of 32 games out of 38, Los Merengues secured the highest number of points in the history of Spanish football this year. Their total points in the league standings were 100. They were also able to score the highest number of goals as they
encompassed 121 strikes in their road to the title.
Zidane emphasized that such performances truly prove a team’s worth, maintaining the side’s main objective is still to reach their 10th European trophy.
While talking to reporters, the Frenchman quoted:
"For a team to have beaten the records, in the number of goals scored as well as in points, winning 32 out of 38 games, it is incredible. It has been an extraordinary adventure to be a part of this project.
"For three or four years we weren't champions and when one is at Real Madrid the objective is to advance and reverse that trend. What the players have done throughout the whole season has been extraordinary."
