The duo did not give Zimbabwe any chance to come back into the game, as they scored runs at a fine pace. Both batsmen were well settled at the wicket and the proceedings were totally in control of New Zealand when the skipper went back to the dressing room
after getting retired hurt.
Despite losing his partner, Williamson kept on playing superbly and secured his place in the imminent Test match by hitting an excellent half-century.
