Zimbabwe XI v Australia A - Match Update – 26-Over Recap
The opening match of the Zimbabwe A Tri-Series kicked off at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The match took place between Zimbabwe XI and Australia A.

Declaring to serve their best, both teams began the day after the Australians won the toss and chose to bat.

The early minutes of the session brought a slow start for the Australians. However, by the end of the 3rd over, the hosts made their dominance after medium pacer, Mpofu, secured Warner’s wicket.

NJ Maddinson was the next batsman to enter the field.
Finch and Maddinson preceded with the innings as the partnership kept adding slow runs to the Australian total.
By the end of the 10th over, the duo managed to accumulate a steady total of 33 runs with a loss of 1 wicket.
Trouble once again came for the Australians as Finch too had to leave the field on a Leg before Wicket (LBW) appeal by Mpofu.
Finch was Mpofu’s second wicket. The Australian loss came right at the start of the 11th over.
Finch managed to play a decent innings by scoring a total of 21 runs after facing 25 balls. The player’s aggregate included 3 fours.
With 2 wickets already lost, the Australian side had accumulated a total score of 33 runs.

Ferguson and Maddinson’s new partnership brought a little sigh of release for the squad as the two players aided in elevating the team’s slow run rate.
