Zimbabwe v Bangladesh: 4th ODI - http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brian-Vitori-c1198 rested
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 have decided to rest their promising young fast bowler Brian Vitori for the fourth One Day International (ODI) of the five-match series at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo in Zimbabwe on Friday, August 19, 2011.
The hosts have already won the series after winning the opening three games. They were also victorious in the only Test match played between the two nations. All the previous games were played at Harare and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 will hope for some luck in the final
two games at a different venue.
Toss was won by the tourists’ skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shakib-Al-Hasan-c2492 and he opted to field first. The pitch looked absolutely flat, as it had no grass or moisture in it. However, there might be some assistance for the spinners in the second half of the match, which could
spoil the party for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh had struggled to perform once the team batted first in the first two ODIs. However, the team did a better job in the third match after Shakib had opted to field first.
However, the result did not change for the tourists, as the match was still won by Zimbabwe. The hosts had some nervous moments in the game, but managed to clinch the series with a narrow victory in the third ODI.
Although Zimbabwe have played well in all three departments of the game, Vitori has played a crucial role in the team’s success. The left-arm seamer impressed one and all in his debut Test, picking up five wickets in the match.
He did not disappoint the team in the limited-over format, bowling superbly in the first couple of ODIs.
Vitori took a five-wicket haul in his debut ODI and restricted the opposition to below 200 on a very good batting pitch.
The youngster repeated his performance in the second ODI as well, taking another five-wicket haul in the match. He bowled with a decent pace and swung the ball as well, causing a lot of problems for the opposition.
However, the Zimbabwean management decided to rest their promising fast bowler since the team has already won the series.
It will be important to see whether Vitori lives up to the expectations against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, who will tour the African nation for a complete series in September.
