Zimbabwe v Bangladesh - Bangladesh tour of Zimbabwe: One-Off Test Match – Toss Report
The visiting Bangladeshi side seems all geared up to face the hosts, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 in the one-off Test fixture, scheduled to take off today, Thursday, August 4, 2011, at the Harare Sports Club. The match comes as a much anticipated bout for both the sides that will be making a long awaited Test comeback, especially, Zimbabwe, who are making their first Test appearance in six years.
With the weather conditions posing to be cold, the toss was won by the touring side, after its skipper Shakib al http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990, opted to bowl first, putting the Zimbabweans into their batting gear.
The fixture comes as a one-off Test fixture after which the Zimbabweans will head out to face http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in 5 One Day International (ODI) matches that are scheduled take place from August 12 to August 21, 2011.
Previously, the Bangladeshi team suffered a disappointing loss at the hands of the Zimbabwe XI side. The tourists were offered a 4 wickets loss at the Harare Sports club in a warm up bout before the official kick off to the series.
However, according to the Bangladeshi skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shakib-Al-Hasan-c2492, he still believes that his side stands out as the tournament favourites since the team holds a better performance edge over the Zimbabwean squad, following their six year exile from Test cricket.
As for the Bangladesh, the team will be taking part in their first Test match since their last year’s bout.
As for the hosts, following a down sliding performance in the past decade, the Zimbabwe side offered a temporary goodbye to the format, following a disappointing loss by the Indian side, where Zimbabwe suffered a massive 10-wicket defeat in September 2005.
However, today’s game brings alive the local audience as skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BRM-Taylor-c1200 comes out confident, leading his side to face the touring Bangladeshi team at the local home ground, in Harare.
