Zimbabwe v South Africa – Zimbabwe Twenty20 Triangular Series (6th match) – Toss Report
Zimbabwe won the toss and skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 Twenty20 Triangular Series at the Harare Sports Club today on June 23.
The hosts currently stand at number one on the points table, having won 3 of the 2 matches they have played, and are guaranteed a spot in the final on June 24 as long as they do not lose today’s game by a large margin, which could enable Bangladesh to qualify
for the final ahead of them on net run-rate. The same, however, cannot be said for the South Africans, who are floundering at the bottom of the points table, and need to secure a win today in order to have a shot at making it to the series final.
Zimbabwe will be going into the match with one minor change in their line-up – Chris Ervine has been replaced by all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Malcolm-Waller-c74039.
South Africa have made two changes to their playing XI –Marchant de Lange, who remained lacklustre in the team’s previous match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LL-Tsotsobe-c1842, while Richard Levi will be making a return
to the line-up in place of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Colin-Alexander-Ingram-c51381. This could result in Faf du Plessis being moved down the order to number 3, in order to enable Levi to open with skipper Hashim Amla.
The last encounter between the two teams saw South Africa conceding a shocking 29-run defeat, after which they went on to suffer a second consecutive loss against Bangladesh yesterday, by 3 wickets. Zimbabwe will be going into the match with a psychological
upper-hand, but the Proteas are bound to be determined to grab at a last chance to salvage their pride.
