Zimbabwe was only good in T20 cricket, & now that they're out of the World Cup(already out of tests), THE END?

Do you think it was a sincere decision, when the Zimbabwe is not playing any cricket & they're below Ireland in ODIs. Why do they still have the full member status??

And what about the T20 WORLD CUP groupings now?

  1. Hopefully it isn't the end. I personally feel Zimbabwe is being ostracized.

  2. No I don't think it was a sincere decision on the part of Zimbabwe cricket to pull out of the competition. It was a gesture designed to make them look favourable in the eyes of the ICC so they could keep hold of their membership status and an action designed so it looks like they have the moral high ground over the issue of taking part in the 20/20 competition when they wouldn't have been able to take part in it anyway. They know they could never have taken part in it as they are banned from travelling to the UK.

The ICC would never have moved the competition even if they have been making noises about doing so. It would have cost too much money and wouldn't have been practical on a logistical level. And most of the tickets have already been sold anyway. If they moved it to a more neutral country I doubt they could have made as much money as they would have at UK grounds, we have some of the most expensive in the world.

At the moment they still have full member status because the ICC continually refuses to make a stand over the issue. They need to be leading the way here rather than let each country set their own rules. But now that they're not taking part then the place will go to another team. I think the ICC are still deciding on it, but it looks like it'll probably be Ireland or Scotland (or Bangladesh if they're not already taking part). My money is on Ireland (if not Bangladesh).

This is probably the end of Zimbabwe cricket for the time being as no-one wants to play them. But I think if and when Mugabe is finally deposed (or dies) and they get a president that is committed to rebuilding the country, the economy, and looking after the people then Zimbabwe will get their status back. But they will need a proper structure back for their cricket and their grounds need to be maintained and rebuilt (in some cases). But once all that is done then there is no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to play Test, ODI or 20/20 cricket.

  3. I think this is THE end.......................

there is no use now .........is there??......................

they were only good at t20 (like you said).......they even defeated Australia in the world cup..(t20)..............

I don't thnik there is any use now of them being a full member.....................................

  4. They  have the full member status because its really bad to degrade a country which had a test playing status once  They still have support from the Asian Nations. Its only the British, the Aussies and the Kiwis who are complaining about Zimbabwe.

I think its a pretty bad idea to throw out Zimbabwe from playing T20 cricket. We may say that the South Africans were banned earlier due to apartheid reasons but a similar  exclusion of Zimbabwe will only cause  economic crisis to players and all those who are dependent on cricket for a living.Zimbabwe is really going through a serious economic crisis.Maybe England need not go to Zimbabwe for playing cricket but its very bad that the Government of Great Britain is refusing the Zimbabweans ,Visas. That's why after some persuasion the Zimbabweans voluntarily stepped down for cricket's own good.

  5. you know zimbave is was good in 20th cent due to lack of experence they are out if they play the t20 game stunningly they can com back to any form of cricket.

  6. I think zimbabwe is playing good in ODI's in recent times. Remember the series between SA and Zimbabwe. Every match was very tight till end. Rather than zimbabwe it is Bangladesh must be out of cricket.

  7. THEY HAVE STILL A CHANCE.IT IS NOT A GOOD DECISON BECAUSE EVERY TEAM HAS UPS AND DOWN . IF A TEAM IS NOT DOING WELL THEN THE TEAM SHOULD BE GIVEN MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO PROVE IT SELF.THE GROUPING WILL TAKE ANOTHER SMALL TEAM.

DONOT FORGET THAT IN LAST T20 WORLD CUP ZIM HAD BEATEN AUSTRALIA.

THEY ARE NOT ONLY BETTER THAN IRELAND BUT THEY ARE ALSO BETTER THAN BANGLADESH IN ALL FORMATS OF CRICKET.

  8. Zimbawe have opted out of Twenty/20 Cricket World cup as England have refused to grant Visa to Zimbawe players.  That does not mean that they will not be playing future Twenty/20 tournaments.  It was also a compromise move to safeguard their full member status.

  9. They still have full member status because the ICC haven't decided yet whether to disclude them or not. I guess in the T20 WC groupings they'll have to get one of the other minnows like Hong Kong or UAE

  10. ye end nahi. abhi tho crick baki hai mere dost.happy endinzssssss..................

  11. its the beginning of end for Zimbabwe

  12. yes it it is unbilevele to hear
