Zinedine Zidane claims Real Madrid were lucky against Barcelona – Copa del Rey news

Zidane was talking in the aftermath of Los Blancos’ 1-0 Copa del Rey final
triumph.
The 38-year-old admitted that Barcelona controlled most of the game but lacked the finishing touches. He insisted that the Whites were fortunate to record an all important win which will certainly infuse confidence in Jose Mourinho’s squad. He hailed the
efforts of Real’s defence, which stood firm throughout the entire 120 minutes and never allowed Barcelona to ease past them.
He agreed that the match wasn’t easy for Madrid but every team has its day and it was certainly Real’s.
Small details make the difference in this kind of game. We struggled a bit and Barcelona were in control for large parts of the game. However, we then dealt them the knockout blow when we scored the opener," Zidane stressed while talking to Al Jazeera.
“We could have scored one or two goals in the first half, but were unlucky not to find the net. We eventually managed to win though." He concluded.
The Former Real Madrid midfielder, though, expressed his delight at the Whites’ triumph and called it a timely win, as both the teams have their eyes fixed upon the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
Shedding further light on the encounter, the legendary figure told, "Every Clasico is different and we have to make sure we're well prepared for the Champions League tie. It definitely won't be easy. Barcelona and Real Madrid are two of the best teams in
the world, maybe even the absolute best."
Both the rivals will lock horns in a week’s time when Madrid will host the Catalan giants on Wednesday, April 27, at the Bernabeu for the first leg of the semi-final. The second leg will be played on the May 3rd at Camp Nou.
