Zlatan Ibrahimovic asks for time to think over AC Milan offer
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly thinking over AC Milan’s offer after the Serie A club’s vice-president Adriano Galliani met Barcelona president Sandro Rosell for talks today.
The Sweden international was said to have asked Galliani for time to think over an offer made to him, according to Sky Sport 24, but the player and Barca are said to be keen on a move.
'Complex' talks
Galliani said that the negotiations were "very complex, difficult and very expensive" for a player who is believed to have a buy-out clause of £216m in his contract.
Despite claims that only a loan deal would be suitable for Milan, Galliani told reporters after today’s meeting that both clubs are working towards a permanent deal for Ibra. He said that: "Both Barcelona and Milan have clarified their respective positions and at this point we are working on a permanent deal. No loan, the road is long and I can say a deal can be concluded with 50 percent chances."
The Barca president revealed that the talks had been successful and that "Galliani is free to negotiate terms with the player".
Former Inter player
The 28-year-old Ibrahimovic spent three years with Inter Milan before moving to Barca last summer on a five-year contract, but the fact that he has played with their fierce rivals has not put of Milan.
Galliani told his club’s official website that: "The negotiations are very complex but the relationship with Sandro Rosell is really good and he is very nice. Barca are willing to sell or loan the player, he is willing to come to Milan but we are talking about a mountain of money in the middle of a crisis."
According to Sky Sport Italia, Ibra is considering a wage cut to move back to Italy despite claims to the contrary by his agent Mino Raiola.
