The former AC Milan striker believes that it is unmerited to rank Ibra at par with the world’s best.
Legendary striker Brian Laudrup has voiced his disagreement over the recent commendations of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 as one of the world’s finest active footballers.
The former Bianconeri striker believes that unlike http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629, the tall Diavolo striker has failed to prove himself in the crunch situations.
The Swede was recently praised by Massimiliano Allegri for his spectacular goal-scoring form, and the tactician branded the striker as a front-runner for the season’s Ballon d'Or award.
Laudrup, however, believes that Ibrahimovic has not earned the comparison with the greats as yet.
While talking to Fotbollskanalen, the 43-year-old said:
"In http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. 'Ibra' didn't do that. It's
one of the reasons why he won't surpass Messi and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734."
The striker failed to impress in his side’s 3-0 demolition at the hands of Arsenal in the second-leg of the last 16 round of UEFA Champions League. The match almost saw the Italian Champions exit from the competition despite taking
a mammoth lead in the first-leg.
Ibrahimovic has been in spectacular form of late, scoring 18 goals in 20 league matches including four assists, this season. His 35-minute hat-trick against Palermo has been one of the highlight of the season so far.
AC Milan are in the running for three major trophies this year, including Coppa Italia, Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. With so many crucial matches in the coming, it is given that Ibra and the Rossoneri will be tested to
the core. The Swedish international has an ideal opportunity to prove his mettle, and earn the respect of sceptics like Brain Laudrup.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 legend starred for AC Milan in the 1993/94 season, and featured in only nine league games for the Diavolo.
