The experienced striker from Sweden is relishing a bright prospect for the newly assembled PSG squad in Champions League .
The 30-year-old, who has now become one of the most expensive players in sports history in recent times, is already looking forward to the group stage draws of the most coveted club competition, and is all geared up to challenge for titles with PSG.
Carlo Ancelotti’s eleven have made their way into the Champions League this year, courtesy of their 2nd spot in the domestic league last season, only to be tipped to the title by Montpellier in dramatic circumstances.
Though, the club has spent money in the transfer market for quite a few years, the estimated 143 million Euros, spent by the club this summer, is in line with the ambition of the club to at least making it to the quarter-finals this season of Europe’s biggest
club competition, apart from winning the domestic top tier crown.
The latest high profile signings by Ancelotti are in accordance with the club’s desire to include experienced players in the playing eleven, to provide with the required experience needed to challenge Europe’s prized trophies and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is indeed
one of the players who has enough Champions League experience to guide the Paris-based outfit to challenge for the title.
The Swedish International, also relished the prospect of playing against bigger and better teams around the world, the prospect he could not pursuit during his time at Milan. The hitman was quoted as, “We are in the fourth hat, so we will play against the
big teams” and the striker continued, “This is new for me because I am used to playing against weaker teams”.
The captain of his national team, who is known for his strong and agile body, has already become a big fan of the club and also relishes the challenge posed to him and the club, with the promise to deliver.
“It will be a challenge. PSG will be great, although for me it already is” and he continued “The club has big dreams and we will deliver on them”.
Ibrahimovic already had a great start to the season, as the fierce striker netted twice in a remarkable turnaround at Parc des Princes in the opening game of the Championnat against Lorient.
