The Rossoneri boss hails his team’s attitude despite going down to 10 men, and not concerned with Juventus’s lead on top of the table
A.C Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is satisfied with a point against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 after a goalless stalemate at San Siro on Sunday, February 5, 2012.
The Champions came into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salvatore-Aronica-c32276.
Allegri believes that his team played good football against a team that put them under pressure. He insisted that his team continued playing attacking football despite being reduced to 10-men after Ibrahimovic’s dismissal. The manager believes that the draw will give them a lot of confidence and the point will take them a long way in terms of title race.
While talking to the reporters, Allegri said,
“It was important to put in a good performance against a team that was able to put us under pressure. Then we went down to 10 men and in any case did not stop playing attacking football. The point has given us back our spirit that we need to target the Scudetto. Of course we have to improve in certain situations, but we didn’t run many risks even with a man down.”
Talking about Ibrahimovic’s red card, the former Cagliari boss believes that the Swede deserved to be sent off, and the referee made the right decision.
“I cannot argue with the referee’s performance. I hadn’t seen anything at the time, but watching the footage you have to say Ibra deserved the red card.”
Luckily for Milan, their dropped points did not cost them much, as Juventus were also held to a goalless draw in their respective league match. However, Allegri is not concerned with the gap on top and is confident that his team will overcome the deficit.
Milan will take on Udinese in their next game on Saturday, February 11.
