Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not believe in Real Madrid, but in Jose Mourinho
There have been a large number of rumours regarding Zlatan Ibrahimovic's transfer after his “not-so-good” season with Barcelona. The Swedish striker was involved in a swap deal with Inter Milan, as the former Barcelonan goal-scoring legend, Samuel Eto’o was sent to the Italian league and Zlatan came to the current Spanish Champions.
Many thought that this was not an appropriate deal as Eto’o was better than Ibrahimovic. However fans of Zlatan thought that “Ibra” had this class, which helped him in leading his Italian club to win the Italian Serie A. With Ibra coming to Barcelona, fans had high hopes thinking he would score many goals, as Spanish football is all about attacking the opponents. He was sent down for his first match and he failed to score a goal and missed the Cameroonian pace upfront. However, Zlatan tried creating chances for others, and Lionel Messi was the one scoring yet again, to help his team win the match.
During the previous season, Barcelona touched a record number of points that no other team in the Spanish La Liga had ever done before. Although, the Barcelonans were only defeated by Atletico Madrid, they still didn’t manage to score many goals. This year, the Catalan Giants were seen defending their goals, as they were relatively attacked less. It was the Argentinean little magician again, to do his job. Lionel Messi along with Xavi Hernandez, combined well to make the team win a good number of matches. Messi or “Messidona,” as people call him was in fabulous form and managed to bag more than 50 goals during the previous season. During the Champion’s League’s quarter final match against Arsenal, Lionel Messi just owned the show during the home leg. It was the Argentinean legend scoring all the 4 goals, helping his team advance to the semi finals by winning the match 4-1. Even though it was Arsenal winning 1-0 via Bendtner’s goal; Lionel helped his team with a dramatic comeback by scoring four goals taking the score line 4-1 at the end of the match.
This year things have changed considerably. Real Madrid has spent too much “cash” on its new signings and the new coach. It is expected that things “might” be different for the Catalan Giants, during this season. We all know how they bought Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka from Manchester United and AC Milan, respectively; but this time they brought in the brains. Jose Mourinho was taken by the Spanish Giants to change the cause of the game during La Liga and the Champions League.
Barcelona has already signed the “amazing” Spanish player, David Villa while Real Madrid has taken in players like Di Maria and Sami Khedira, and is now planning to buy Maicon and Ashley Cole from Inter Milan and Chelsea, respectively.
Barcelona’s previous season’s signing, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been involved in too many transfer rumours because of his below-the-line performance last season; but no one can forget how it was all “him” during the first leg of the El Classico. The match was going on as a goalless-tie. Then Pep Guardiola replaced “one” striker and brought Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the match. The impact was seen within seconds, as the Swedish striker was able to bag himself a goal soon after his entry into the game.
During the pre-seasons, Zlatan was interviewed about the next season’s analysis and he told the press that Real Madrid is a strong side this year but they were stronger last year. He even told the press that he is not going anywhere and belongs to the Spanish club and is definitely going to participate in the matches, even with so much competition upfront. He told Barca TV that he is definitely going to score goals to make a permanent spot for himself. When they asked him about Jose Mourinho, he said:
“I don’t believe in Real Madrid, but I do believe in Jose Mourinho”
