Ibrahimovic admitted that he is extremely happy with his team’s performance, after beating the Gunners for the first-time in the competition’s history. He insists that team such as Arsenal do not lose by a heavy margin as this
every day.
The Swede has hailed his team’s tactical brilliance, insisting that nobody was expecting them to come up with this performance.
Ibra admitted that his team is in a strong position to qualify for the quarter-finals, but believes that his team should have scored more goals to tighten their grip on the tie.
The 30-year-old shrugged talks of his team being favourites to win the Champions League this season, and insisted that there is still a lot of work to do to reach the finals.
While talking to the reporters, Ibrahimovic said,
“You don’t get to beat Arsenal 4-0 every day. My shout was one of positive anger, as I was happy with the result and the great performance. We played tactically very well, even if nobody expected us to put in such a fantastic performance.”
“Having said that, we should’ve scored a few more goals, because they are important in Europe over two legs. At least this result does give us a good advantage for the second game. There’s a long way to go until the Final, but
we have to take it one match at a time and see where we end up.”
Milan will travel to the Emirates Stadium for the second-leg of the last 16 round on Tuesday, March 6. The Rossoneri will take on Cesena in their next league game at the weekend.
