The Paris Saint-Germain player has scored some amazing acrobatic goals throughout his career and the 31-year-old owes this flexibility to the martial arts he did in his youth
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 international is a black belt in martial arts and is very skilful in taekwondo. And the player feels that this has helped him a lot throughout his career as it enables him to use his body more freely as compared to other footballers.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 was talking to reports and when asked about his acrobatic style of play, the striker stated that he can use his body in a very flexible manner because of the fact that he took martial arts when he was little. Taekwondo has helped the Swede
to great extent as it helps him to use his legs a lot.
“I owe this flexibility to the martial arts I did in my youth, mostly taekwondo, where you use your legs a lot.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 player added that he loved doing martial arts when he was little and he used to jump around and do high kicks impressed by Bruce Lee and Jet Li’s movies.
“I've always loved martial arts, jumping kicks and high kicks... Bruce Lee movies and Jet Li as well.”
The 31-year-old revealed that he often watches fighting championships and that is the reason why he wants to try acrobatic things out there on the pitch.
“I often watch UFC [Ultimate Fighting Championship] bouts. All this makes me want to try acrobatic things out on the pitch.”
Ibrahimovic added that he wants to try new and exciting things on the pitch but there are no guarantees that it will work all the time. Sometimes it works while other times they fall flat. The Swede said that it’s his style and he loves to take these kinds
of risks.
“Sometimes it even works! But other times they fall flat, like against the Saint-Etienne 'keeper. But it's my style; I have to take these kinds of risks.”
The 31-year-old is currently in Doha, where Paris Saint-Germain’s training camp is taking place ahead of the second half of the season.
