The River Islanders are keeping tabs on the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Austria-c2844 Wien striker in order to bolster their squad for the second-half of the 2011/12 campaign.
Bundesliga side Werder Bremen is reportedly interested in signing Austria Wien striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatko-Junuzovic-c38036, in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The River Islanders are looking to bolster their attacking options for the second-half of the season, and Junuzovic has attracted interest from the German outfit.
Junuzovic is a versatile player who can play as a striker or in a midfield role. Claudio Pizzarro’s future at Weserstadion is still uncertain, and Bremen bosses are seriously considering signing Junuzovic as the Peruvian's replacement
in January.
The striker could be a perfect addition to Thomas Schaaf’s squad, and can form a formidable partnership with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marko-Marin-c24198 and Markus Rosenberg.
Schaaf reckons that the Austrian international is an outstanding talent who can easily settle in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. The manager admitted to difficulties in adjusting to a new team, but he believes that Junuzovic’s playing style suits the
Bundesliga.
Junuzovic is known as ‘Austrian Ozil’ in the Austrian Bundesliga owing to similarities in playing style with Germany’s Mesut Ozil.
The striker will run out of contract with the Violets at the end of this season, and will be available on a free transfer in June. The Austrian club has failed to agree on an extension with the attacker, and they might lose him
as early as January. A host of Premier League clubs are also tracking the youngster’s progress, and Sunderland are likely to rival Bremen for the signature of the youngster.
The ‘Austrian Ozil’ has also revealed his intentions of leaving the club at the end of the current campaign. He wishes to test his skills at a bigger club, and therefore might accept an offer from the German outfit.
While talking to Oberosterreichische Nachrichten, the 24-year-old further added:
"The Bundesliga would be a good jump, it is my goal. Werder would be a great honour."
Junuzovic landed at the Franz Horr Stadium in 2009, and so far, he has 63 league appearances under his belt, bagging 14 goals during the process.
