Zodiac Zeus in form for dominating the Ladbrokes.Com Pall Mall Stakes Heat 4 at Oxford
The fourth heat of the Ladbrokes.Com Pall Mall Stakes will be held at Oxford over 450 metres flat on Thursday, 7th June. The £150 prize money will be contested by You Mind Me, Colorful Marco, Ballymac Drogba, Zodiac Zeus, Droopys Betson and Lenson Mac.
The most accomplished hound on the track is Zodiac Zeus, Droopys Maldini’s three-year-old black son out of b***h, Windgap Sky. The hound is very lightly raced during the new season and has been active through the previous season.
Out of the five races that he took part in, in October, 2011, four were victories while the final two races of the season were successes too. He won a 480 metres race at Wimbledon by reaching the other end of the wire in 28.74 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Sakara Star, by five lengths.
His final race of the season was the 480 Standard Division 2 at Wimbledon over 480 metres. The 6/4 favourite of the race was done with the track in 28.95 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Cinderella Man, by 1 ¾ lengths.
Settling third behind the winner was Omega Mick.
His 2012 campaign shot off with a training session on 22nd February at Wimbledon over 273 metres. He was done with the race track in 16.33 seconds.
Zodiac Zeus’ seasonal debut was in a 480 metres race on 28th Februray at Swindon. He failed to win the race and joined the winner, Finbars Rainbow, after leaping through 10 ¼ lengths which made him lose the race.
It took the winner 29.29 seconds to reach the other end of the wire.
Making all the effort trainer N. McEllistrim could for enabling his under charge, he drilled the three-year-old for a second time. On 28th May he was tuned over 250 metres at Oxford which he settled in 15.05 seconds.
Zodiac Zeus finally won a race on 2nd June at Oxford over 450 metres by timing the track distance in 27.09 seconds and leading the runner up, Tipp Are Back, by 7 ¾ lengths.
He has raced only once after the training session and thus has the potential of capturing the race tonight.
