Question:

Zolpidem vs Zopiclone?

From what I understand zopiclone is similar to benzos and zolpidem isn't at all, different properties etc. Zopiclone makes me hyper so I got prescribed Zolpidem.

Does anyone have any experience especially with the Zolpidem and its effectiveness/strength?

  1. Zopiclone's effects you are right about.  I used to take it and it did the most weird things to me.  I would not touch the stuff with a barge pole now. Contrary to the first poster's claim, it is very addictive.  Zolpidem I have no idea about but I hope it helps you and I believe both are belonging to the hypnotic group of medications not benzos. The link is to a site about both.

  2. my doctor told me that they we're not addictive physically but that you come to rely upon them and get addicted mentally. i took zopiclone for a few weeks a couple of years ago though and they did help. i wouldn't take sleepers for too long though, a week or two weeks max maybe.

  3. None of these drugs belong to benzodiazapines my friend, they are not addictive either, Zolpidem is the strongest out of both of them, you obviously need this drug to sleep but try and take it short term, Good Luck..

  4. Both of these drugs are HIGHLY addictive and that is why doctor's don't like prescribing them these days.
