Zomerlust zealous to win Claiming Stakes
Zomerlust is zealous to claim top spot in the Tsingtao Chinese Beer Classified Claiming Stakes that will take place at Chester racecourse on Saturday, June 9. The Class 4 contest over the distance of 7 furlongs and 2 yards will commence at 4:15 (GMT).
The John Quinn-trained bay gelding is looking to complete his hat-trick by winning the high-stakes event. The 81-race veteran sprinter marvellously finished first in each of his last two starts on April 9 and May 14.
First, the maverick horse notched up top spot in the Racing UK On Sky 432 Selling Stakes at Redcar track. Being 4-6 favourite, he daringly defeated 11 rivals.
The brilliant gelding moved on with the same momentum and won Go Racing In Yorkshire Backs Barney Claiming Stakes again at the same venue. This time, he outpaced 5 competitors including the hot favourite runner Mango Music.
Prior to these classic feats, the son of Josr Algarhoud out of Passiflora had gained a third on February 6. As a whole, the experienced runner has a dozen of triumphs to his name.
Now, Zomerlust is well-prepared to take on 13 worthy competitors such as Lockantanks, Flameoftheforest, Jungle Bay, Jedward, Koo And The Gang, Rigolleto, Amazing Star, Alhaban, Spinning Ridge, Kingswinford, Marksbury, One Way Or Another and Bint Alzain.
He will surely show a decent run in the race, having more than 90 chances to finish first.
Among the other runners, Kingswinford and Flameoftheforest are likely to do well in the Stakes.
Kingswinford excellently grabbed a triumph in Live Pool Information At Totepool.Com Handicap on April 5. The David Evans-trained bay gelding went on to clinch a 9th and a 6th position in two consecutive races during May. As a whole,
he has won 8 of his total 56 starts so far.
On the other hand, Flameoftheforest finished 6th against 13 contestants in his last outing on May 28, 2012. Prior to this, Ed de Giles-trained bay gelding had gained a 4th position on April 26. He has two classic triumphs to his name.
