  1. I am sure you could do a very interesting talk on biodiversity. Explain how important it is to the environment and agriculture to maintain a high level of genetically diverse plants and animals.Demonstrate that a diverse gene pool is stronger than a single genome crop or population. Six to eight minutes is not a huge amount of time this topic can be covered and keep your audience mentally engaged.

  2. You could write an excellent speech on urging farmers to plant some wildlife food plots.  Many farmers are doing this already but it is important that more start this practice.  In should make a great speech with the zoology/agriculture theme you are looking for.  Good luck, here are a couple of good sites that should get you started.

  3. talk about how past technological advancements in agriculture have shaped our society today

  4. You could talk about the awesome humanitarianism of Dr. Norman Borlaug

  5. Zoology is very cool I'm studying it

  6. You might consider the hypoxia situation in the Gulf of Mexico where the Mississippi enters the gulf.  Depending on where you are located many counties have their own Soil & Water Conservation District office's or look them up as a state office.  They can possibly help provide some info for you. Much of the research will directly blame the farmers yet there are a number of studies that also look at the engineering of the the various river controls in which river levels have been re-engineered to control water flow, etc.  Good luck.  (I have not explained what hypoxia is, yet I will let you decide on your own as you look into it)

  7. Maybe suggest using new species for agriculture like capybara, giant forest hog, gaur or use their genes in current domestic species.

  8. I would tak about geneticly modified plants, both pros & cons.
