Zoology????

Question

I have been studying and handling mainly reptiles animals since i was 6 (im 13) and i have been recommended by a professional zoologist to become one.

I want to know what degrees would i need to become one.

What colleges would i need to go to?

how much money would i need to travel to other countries like the Congo, Argentina and other ones if i become a zoologist?

You will need a science degree, or just get a good level in science.Youwill have to go to a college to do with animals, and science, and im not sure about the money.Hope this helps.

To become a top notch zoologist you should get a PHD in one of the "animal" sciences, like Mammalogy or Herpitology.  There are many different branches of zoology so you need to decide just which one you want to specialize in.

I don't know where you live so it's hard to recommend a college.  But, the best ones are usually the universities that have a complete line of courses in Zoology, like Mammalogy, Entimology, Herpitology, Ornithology, etc, etc.  I went to a "state" university because I couldn't afford otherwise, and they had all the animal courses I could want.

Keep your grades as high as possible in high school so any university you apply at will accept you.

If you get your PHD in zoology, you won't have to worry about the money to get to those places.  The company you work for will send you there at "their" expense.

Go to any college that gives a good degree in Zoology. By the time you graduate, you should have a good idea of where you want to do graduate work. If you want to get a jump on the process, read the herpetological literature. Find the people whose work you find interesting and see which universities they are associated with.

As far as travel goes, the best way is to get a job that will have someone else pay for your travels. If you can't do that, I guess you have to check airfares and local costs of living.
