Zsuzsanna Jakabos pockets Women’s 400m IM gold – Swimming News
Zsuzsanna Jakabos of Hungary pocketed gold medal of the Women’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on the second day of the 2013 Sette Colli Trophy Meet in Rome, Italy on Friday, June 14.
The Hungarian swimmer devastated hopes of her opponents in the 400m discipline, as she transpired on the finishing end for gold medal in a comprhensive manner. She faced no trouble from her closest competitor in the playoff of
the distant IM discipline as she surfaced on the finishing wall for the title.
With her impeccable efforts, she faced no trouble in defending her fastest qualification spot of the race as she clocked an effort of 4 minutes and 38.82 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Evelyn Verraszto of Hungary, who remained 1.30 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall for silver medal with the timing of 4 minutes and 40.12 seconds.
The second best finisher was traced by Barbora Zavadova of Czech Republic, who was 5.99 seconds slower from improving her position on the overall rankings list and finished third. With her astonishing pace, she remained comfortably
slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 46.11 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Luisa Trombetti, who was 1.45 seconds away from stepping on the finishing end for bronze medal and clocked an effort of 4 minutes and 47.56 seconds for fourth place.
Fifth spot of the event was obtained by Reka Gyorgy of Hungary, who was 0.98 seconds away from moving up on the overall points table, as she finished her race with an effort of 4 minutes and 48.54 seconds.
Similarly, Gyorgy was chased by Carlotta Toni of Italy, who was 3.24 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 51.78 seconds for sixth place.
Toni remained nearly full body length ahead of her following swimmer, Susanna Negri, who tried hard to improve her position but failed to do so. Negri remained 0.66 seconds away from her preceding swimmer as she tapped the finishing
end with an effort of 4 minutes and 52.44 seconds for seventh place.
Following that, Isabelle Mabboux of France faced disqualification charges from the last lap of the playoff due to an improper tumble turn and could not secure any place.
Furthermore, Jakabos was delighted with her undisputed effort in the race while the position holders received accolades after the session.
