Zsuzsanna Jakabos wins Women’s 200m butterfly gold – Swimming News
Zsuzsanna Jakabos of Hungary won gold medal of the Women’s 200m butterfly on second day of the 2013 Sette Colli Trophy Meet in Rome, Italy on Friday, June 14.
The Hungarian swimmer devastated hopes of her opponents in the 200m discipline as she transpired on the finishing end for the title. With her commendable pace, Jakabos showed no mercy to her challengers in the distant butterfly
event and secured gold medal.
Jakabos faced strong contest from her following swimmers in the race but she managed to cruise her way towards the wall for gold medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 08.19 seconds.
The champion was chased by Liliana Szilagyi of Hungary, who was only an inch behind and stepped on the finishing end for silver medal by posting an effort of 2 minutes and 08.48 seconds.
Third spot of the race was obtained by Martina Granstroem of Sweden, who remained one and a half body length slower from her preceding swimmer and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 10.19 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the event was secured by Stefania Pirozzi of Italy, who was just 0.07 seconds slower and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 10.26 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Silvia Meschiari, who was 2.28 seconds away from upsetting her foregoing finisher and emerged on the finishing wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 12.54 seconds.
Sixth position of the swim was obtained by Teresa Strickner, who remained two and a half body lengths apart and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 14.93 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Francesca Annis, who was 0.28 seconds away from improving her position and sprinted her way towards the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 15.21 seconds.
Last spot of the event was obtained by Alessia Polieri of Italy, who remained 0.72 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end with an effort of 2 minutes and 15.93 seconds.
In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades at the prize ceremony of the race.
