ZuZana Luknarova breezes past Denisa Allertova
in final qualies – Slovak Open 2011
Fourth seeded home-girl ZuZana Luknarova got rid of Czech Denisa Allertova in the final qualifying round of the Slovak Open 2011.
On Monday the 14th of November 2011 both the players took up the gauntlet on indoor hard courts of the Národné Tenisové Centrum in Bratislava, Slovakia and it took Luknarova only fifty two minutes to blow away the unseeded
Czech by thrashing her in straight sets of 6-2, 6-4.
The first set of the match was clearly a lopsided victory for Luknarova, though she had also bagged the second set, it was a tad difficult as Allertova had pulled up her socks. Although Luknarova had targeted only 68 percent of
her first serves, she still managed to accomplish 75 percent of her second service points won. Moreover, she had a strong defence and did not give a single breakpoint chance to her adversary, instead, capitalized on 67 percent of breakpoints won.
Initiating the first round was Luknarova as she had won the service pitch and both the challengers were able to hold their respective serves to place themselves on the scoreboard at 1-1. In the next two games, each player bagged
a service game each and the score tied at two games each by the end of the fourth game.
In subsequent two games, Luknarova managed to squander two successive games against her adversary with a hold of serve and then by breaking in the sixth game to take a mini lead of 4-2. The Home girl was cheered on by the crowd
and her confidence had multiplied ten folds. As she repeated the feat, she conquered the opening game and went one up in the match.
During the second set both the players were neck-on-neck into each other’s game and they even managed to target 73 percent each of their respective first serves, however, Luknarova was a better player as she had a stronger return.
Moreover, the home-girl was also able to accomplish a walloping 77 percent of her total service points won in the second set.
In addition, she did not set up a single breakpoint opportunity for her adversary and instead, capitalized on 50 percent of breakpoints won during the second round of the match. The Slovakian managed to restrict her opponent to
only four games and in the tenth game she clogged the second set and the match.
Luknarova managed to secure a place in the main draw of the twelfth and sixth edition of the tournament which is part of the Tretorn SERIE of the ITF Women’s Circuit.
