The club has announced on Tuesday that the trio have agreed to extend their contracts with Barcelona.
It is now clear that Messi will extend his contract to June 2018 while Xavi will add two more years to his original commitment to the club.
Moreover, La Blaugrana captain, Carles Puyol, has also agreed to a three-year extension to his previous deal that was due to expire next summer.
The director explained why Barca announced the players’ new contracts in a single statement. He stated that one major reason was that their timings coincided with each other while the club also wanted to show a face of solidarity to the world.
