The Barcelona sporting director believes that the Spanish striker has contributed a lot for the Catalans and still has a future with the Camp Nou outfit.
The man from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 established himself smartly and quickly with the Camp Nou outfit.
However, following his injury suffered at last year’s FIFA Club World Cup, the forward has since then found it difficult to feel at home with the Spanish giants.
Villa suffered from a broken foot and returned earlier this year after the injury scare.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 had to change managers in the time when Villa was ruled out, and as Pep Guardiola stepped down as the Catalans tactician, Tito Vilanova was given the hot seat at the Camp Nou outfit.
Since Villa’s return and the appointment of Vilanova, the Spain striker has failed to make his place permanent in the Barcelona starting eleven and Christian Tello and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pedro-c29582 have often been making the team sheet ahead of the former Valencia man.
Villa is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011’s all time record goal scorer and wants to retain his starting berth with the Catalans in order to maintain his place in the Spanish national team squad.
Numerous rumours surfaced following David’s condition at the Blaugrana and many suggested that the striker might be playing his final few games in the Barcelona colours.
A number of clubs have also come calling for the Spain international, including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Juventus.
However, Barcelona‘s sporting director thinks otherwise and showered light on the matter.
“His goals have made us and will continue to do so. Villa has given us a lot and will continue to give what he has. His work rate, effort and so on."
Zubizarreta also stated that he was enjoying the hot goal-scoring streak of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296.
“We are used to him scoring two goals, and he has scored 90 [overall in 2012]. Those of us who are goalkeepers, as I already said the other day, are suffering. He has the ability to put it where nobody else can."
Barcelona are currently 9 points ahead of nearest chasers Atletico Madrid in La Liga standings.
