Zuider Zee likely to be dominant in Phil Bull Trophy Conditions Stakes
A total of six runners have been attracted towards the Phil Bull Trophy Conditions Stakes at Pontefract in England on Monday, October 8, 2012. All eyes will be on Zuider Zee, who has been rated as the outright favourite to succeed in the class-3 encounter,
which is scheduled to kick off at 15:40 GMT.
Although, there are some decent stallions lined up for action in the 2 mile, 1 furlong and 216 yard contest, yet no one seems to be in a position to challenge the race favourite, who will be looking to win a cash prize of £6,412 comfortably in the end. The
good to soft track might trouble him to some extent, but he has the ability to cope up with such a situation.
Zuider Zee has been given a general starting price of 1 to 2, which shows that the bookies expect him to be in a dominant position at the end of the day. It will be a brave decision for the punters to risk many bets against him, as he is a consistent performer
and will not make life easy for his opponents.
The five-year-old gelding made his debut in 2010 and got the attention of everyone with his brilliant performance. He was given a decent starting price in his first ever outing and did a fabulous job in order to secure the runner up place. He would have
liked to achieve a better result, but his team was happy with what he did in the end.
The John Gosden’s trainee did not have to wait for long, as he managed to bring up his maiden victory in his very next outing. He had to fight hard for it, but achieved it by a short head distance in the end.
Since then, Sakhee’s son has been doing a very good job and his opponents have never found it easy to win against him. He will be looking to deliver another competitive run today and will have an edge over his rivals, who are not carrying a very good rhythm
right now.
Zuider Zee’s partner in the race will be Robert Havlin, who has partnered him in the past as well.
