Zulfadli Zulkiffli proves too strong for Flemming Quach in qualifying round of Denmark Open 2012
Malaysia’s talented player Zulfadli Zulkiffli showed a remarkable performance in Men’s Singles qualifying round when he played with tremendous control and overpowered his local opponent Flemming Quach at Yonex Denmark Open 2012 at Odense, Denmark, on Tuesday,
October 16.
The spirited Zulfadli, who is Junior World Champion as well, showed his aggression on court and easily defeated his experienced Danish challenger by taking just 36 minutes on court.
Malaysian shuttler was at his best on court and he wisely employed his impressive skills which helped him to knock down Flemming in a spectacular fashion with a dominating margin.
On the other hand, the Danish shuttled failed to take advantage of his home crowd and familiar conditions as he failed to put up strong show and remained unable to cope up with the speed of his Malaysian rival.
Flemming remained in all sorts of trouble throughout the battle and eventually lost to Zulfadli without winning any set.
In the opening set of this qualifying round clash, both shuttlers started their run in a fast and aggressive fashion as they played with precision and stayed close at starting rallies.
Zulfadli managed a reasonable lead in opening half but failed to maintain it and remained at 10-11 down until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, Flemming continued playing in positive and dominating way and he also established a wonderful lead of 17-13.
However, the real twist came at this stage when Zulfadli changed his tactics and played attacking badminton which helped him to take eight straight points to snatch the game with a 21-17 score on the board.
In the second game, the confident Zulfadli continued his passionate run on court and took a reasonable lead but failed to maintain it until the end of opening half and both shuttlers were close on the board.
After the break, Zulfadli became aggressive and played attacking shots which helped him to create pressure on his rival. He did not face any trouble in the concluding half and won the set with a 21-14 score on the board.
The incredible Zulfadli easily registered his superiority over Flemming in straight games with a margin of 21-17 and 21-14.
