Zulqarnain Haider determined to fight-back after being ignored by Lahore teams – Pakistan Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s controversial wicket-keeper batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zulqarnain-Haider-c98685" href="http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zulqarnain-Haider-c98685">Zulqarnain Haider, will have to wait to restart his cricket, as he has been overlooked by each of Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) sides for the National Twenty20 Championship, starting from next month.
After returning to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, the run-away wicket-keeper appeared before a PCB disciplinary committee which allowed him to continue his game after imposing a heavy fine of 0.5 million rupees.
Having been cleared by PCB, Haider earlier aimed to breathe new life into his career, making himself available for the domestic cricket selection.
However, it seems that the things have not yet become simple for the 25-year-old cricketer, as his hopes to play the forthcoming national T20 tournament for his hometown, Lahore, have been dashed to ground.
Disregarding Haider, LCCA assigned the responsibilities of wicket-keeping to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adnan-Akmal-c42042" href="http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adnan-Akmal-c42042">Adnan Akmal, the two brothers who have represented Pakistan at the International stage.
Yet, Haider is upset and said that he will look to try some other team which he can play for in the upcoming national competition.
“It is disappointing to not be considered in either of the two Lahore teams because this is my home region and if they don't play me who will select me. So now the only option I have is to try to play for some other association in the National T20 championship,” said Haider.
Making his International debut as a replacement for Kamran Akram, the wicket-keeper c*m batsman remained phenomenal during his short stay with the national side, playing pivotal role in a couple of Pakistan’s victories against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757" href="http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757">South Africa in UAE last year.
Realising the fact he will have to first make an impact in the domestic cricket in a bid to push national selectors to consider him, he hoped that he will soon be successful in his goal to rejoin the national crew.
Meanwhile, he reiterated, “It is a long domestic season and I know I will get a chance with some regional or departmental team soon and I know I can impress because there is lot of cricket left in me and the controversy is behind me now.”
