Zulqarnain Haider threatens to reveal Pakistani match-fixers
A miffed Zulqarnain Haider has said that he will expose those who were involved in match-fixing within the Pakistani cricketing circles. Updating his Facebook status, Haider asked people to wait for some days before he made his announcement on which players
within the team are corrupt and which players are clean.
However, according to reports, as a direct repercussion to that, the Zulqarnain Haider family has complained to the police about receiving phone calls that have threatened them. According to one of Haider's brothers, Aqeel, one of the phone calls was traced
back to Greece. Currently, Haider is in Greece.
Speaking to Reuters, Aqeel said, "Zulqarnain's wife got three calls today, two from an unknown number and one from a number in Greece, in which the caller, speaking in Urdu, threatened her of dire consequences if Zulqarnain said anything about anyone,"
According to Haider’s brother, the threats came about after the cricketer had posted the Facebook status messages. Haider wrote: "All these people who are saying negative things about me, they should wait for five more days, then I will show them my background
and status. After five days I will show them their background and place, and also those who don't take money and those who have taken money."
Earlier, what angered the Pakistani wicket-keeper was the negative remarks the Pakistani captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, manager Intikhab Alam and legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi had made against him.
Haider disappeared from the series in the Middle East against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and surfaced in England seeking asylum. He had claimed he had been asked to fix matches by illegal bookmakers and was threatened with dire consequences if he did not toe the line. Haider
was replaced by Adnan Akmal during the Test matches.
