http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zulqarnain-Haider-c98685 wants to make a comeback in international cricket – Cricket News Update
The controversial wicketkeeper of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, Zulqarnain Haider, who left the team in the midst of a One Day International series, vows to make a comeback in international cricket. He has claimed that he has performed exceptionally well in the on-going Quaid-e-Azam
Trophy 2011-12, and the selectors should consider him for future matches.
Match-fixing and spot-fixing have spread like a cancer in the game of cricket since the last decade, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zulqarnain-c98682 claimed that he received death threats from bookies, which forced him to desert from the Pakistan team hotel before a One Day International
in Dubai.
While giving an interview to Pakpassion, Zulqarnain expressed his hopes that the new management of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going to give him another chance at the international level.
He feels that the selectors should give performers in domestic cricket a chance to play for the country.
Zulqarnain said, “I am the best domestic wicket keeper at the moment, I am hoping that the new Chairman of PCB Mr. Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 will take note of my performances in domestic cricket. I am aware that the Board and selectors have their eyes on the best performers
so I am hoping that they will pay attention to my performance this season as well.”
The wicketkeeper is currently playing in the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2011-12, Division One, representing Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL). His team was in trouble at the end of day three at the National Stadium, Karachi.
However, the wicketkeeper is hopeful that his team can still make a comeback and emerge victorious because cricket can throw up unexpected results and anything is possible on the fourth day of a match.
“In Cricket – anything can happen – whoever plays well will win – ZTBL or PIA – whoever does well over the 5 days will win”, he added.
There is no doubt that Zulqarnain has done well in the on-going season, but it is highly unlikely that he is going to make a comeback in international cricket because of his disappearing act while on an official tour.
