Zumba Fitness keeps the number one spot in the UK Charts, sign of Armageddon? – Charts
Life was simple for gamers in the United Kingdom seven weeks ago, when real video games topped the charts and everything seemed normal. However, the past six weeks have not only changed the shape of the UK’s video game industry, but could also be a sign
that the end of days may not be that far away.
Suddenly 2012 seems less like a joke.
Saving the truly terrifying news for last though, we shall begin at the bottom of the pile, where Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops is managing to get a few killstreaks together and hang on to the number ten position. Gamers can expect the game to be in
the Top 10 until just before the release of Modern Warfare 3.
Proving that video games have life in them even after a few months after release, is L.A. Noire, the game with facial animation so real, one actually feels intimidated during the interrogation scenes. Take-Two Studios’ stellar title rode the DLC wave right
back to the number nine spot in the overall sales charts for the previous week.
Sticking to its roots and keeping the nation's favourite pastime alive during the off-season is Electronic Arts’ best selling football simulation game, FIFA 11. The game has benefitted from all the hype surrounding FIFA 12 and with nowhere for fans to put
their excitement, it seems they have turned to FIFA 11 to satisfy their craving.
After a strong week of sales on both Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3, as well as an impressive showing in the box office, the final chapter of the Harry Potter series comes in at number seven. Well the game does, at least the movie is still
topping the charts as fans get their last looks at Hermione.
Another game which is back on the rise is Dirt 3, which is power-sliding its way back up the charts. Sadly for Codemasters though, the game fell behind Disney’s Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, which came in at number five.
The first rhythm game in the chart is Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2: Extra Songs. The name pretty much says it all. The game makes you ‘Just Dance’ to a number of ‘Extra Songs’.
Topping both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 charts is Call of Juarez: The Cartel, though the game has to settle for the number three spot in the overall charts as it was beaten out by another Disney game.
Taking advantage of its success in Hollywood, Cars 2 the game, is speeding away in the sales charts just one place behind the unbeatable Zumba Fitness.
For the sake of everyone’s sanity and peace of mind, we shall leave it at this; Zumba Fitness has been the number one game in the UK for the past seven weeks.
