Hi,

My brother works with a software company in India. He is being sent to Zurich for a few months and will get USD 55 per day as allowance. The company will provide accomodation.

My questions are:

1. Is this enough for comfertable living. (basic necessaties, and occasional sight seeing in the city)

2. Which broadband ISP would you recommend for a reasonable price.

3. Slightly unrelated - He is planning to buy a Laptop. Should he buy in Switzerland or in India?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

  1. With $55 per day (if you do not have to pay the accomodation) you will have enough but you will not be able to live luxuriously. It depends much on whether you have to buy food, too! Food costs from $25-$100 per day depending on where you eat. A single hamburger (the tiny ones from the big company) is $2.50! Sightseeing, however, is not much more expensive than in other countries, maybe 20$-30$. There are notebooks from $1000 - $3500. However, I think that in India those are generally cheaper.
