Zv420mw8 dvdr with vhs player/recorder

Question

It dosen't seem to matter how I hook this thing up I can't make it work .I found it nessarry to buy an RF-Moulader and I still can't get it to work right , i did get it to play a dvd but it hums loud and I diden't contuine to use it,can you help. The box says SMART simple hook-up i would like to put it through Wal-marts front window. HELP
