The Russian stopper urged Dynamo Moscow to win the remaining Russian Premier League games to secure a UEFA Champions League spot this season.
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, Dynamo Moscow managed to claim all three points against CSKA Moscow after winning the latest game 1-0 at Arena Khimki.
Zvjezdan Misimović’s solitary goal in the first half was enough to boost the White-blues UEFA Champions League hopes.
The Moscow-based club capitalised in style with an excellent performance that emphatically answered the critics about their Champions League’s credentials.
Misimović’s goal during the 18th minute set the Musora on their way to victory, condemning CSKA to their third consecutive defeat under Leonid Slutsky with concerns over the Koni manager continuing.
After an appalling start to the third league round, where Dynamo lost 3 of the opening 4 outings, the Dinamiki regained some form by winning 3 of the next 4 games, overhauling Spartak Moscow and CSKA.
The Dinamiki now have their Champions League hopes back on track after moving to the second-spot with their latest win. Dynamo’s pursuit of a European finish looks more likely as Spartak failed to retain the second-spot,  dropping
all three points against Anzhi Makhachkala this Sunday.
In the aftermath of the outcome, Misimović has hailed his side’s latest win against the Armeytsy, admitting that they played quality football the entire ninety minutes of the match.
“For us it was important to win. We wanted to win the match not only because it was a derby but because we were level on points with CSKA. Now we have climbed up the table and let’s see what happens next.
“We had a great first half in which we controlled the game and scored a goal. But CSKA came back stronger during the second half. However, we acted firmly.” The Bundesliga winner was quoted as saying.
Misimović expressed his desire to play in the Champions League next season, urging his side to retain the second-spot until the end of the season. He admitted that it will be a difficult task. However, he assured the fans of meeting
their expectations.
