Zvonimir Boban blasts A.C Milan for letting Pirlo leave for Juventus: Serie A news
Former A.C Milan midfielder, Zvonimir Boban, has blasted his former employers for letting influential midfielder, Andrea Pirlo, leave the club in the summer transfer window.
Pirlo left the Italian Champions to join Juventus before the start of the 2011/12 season on a free transfer. Boban believes that the Rossoneri bosses should have convinced the midfielder to stay rather than let him leave on a free
transfer.
While talking to the reporters, Boban said, “It was a resounding mistake to lose Pirlo on a Bosman.”
Milan has struggled in the midfield department since the start of the new season while Pirlo’s presence has made Juventus a reckoning force in Italian football once again. The 32-year-old has made a huge impact at the club so far
this season and has been inspirational in helping his side to lead the league table.
“We have seen in these first few games of the season how he is playing for Juventus and how useful he still would have been for the Rossoneri. Once upon a time Milan signed the best players in the world, now, though, they look
at their balance sheet and club politics.”
The former Dinamo Zagreb star believes that the club is moving in a downward trend as they used to have the best players in the world at one point but it is no longer the case now.
The former Brescia star played a huge role in beating his former employers in a recent encounter between Juve and Milan. Boban believes that the Rossoneri will find it very hard against the top teams because their midfield department
is too weak.
“We are talking about a slow and ageing department of the team. When Milan come up against a team like Juventus played on Sunday then they’ll find it hard to hold on.”
The effects have already been witnessed as the Italian Champions have suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 as well. Milan has picked up five points from as many games so far this season and is placed 15th
in the league table.
