Zweibrucken Air Base Germany?

Question

Looking for old friends who might have been at Zwiebrucken Air Base in Germany during 1989. Just interested in knowing how everyone is doing.

I worked as a civilian contracter on the Army Base on the other 'hill'  - from October 1987 til September 1991. I can not even remember the name of the Kaserne! Maybe Kruezberg??? I am still in Germany, not a contractor anymore. I work for a US/German firm. Funny thing, all the Germans I worked with told me it was not possible? And now I am applying for German citizenship because I plan on staying in Germany.

Anyway, I try to to make it back to Zwei at least once a year, sentimental journey you could say. I used to go to the Stadtfest there and run into a few people I knew from either Base, but it has been a few years since I have done that.

Did you know that the air base is now a discount shopping center? Or, at least it was on my last visit there.....

This is Jason Kirk, I worked in the 26th EMS Sheet Metal Shop.  I was at Zwei from 1989-1991.  I was one of the last people to leave and have stayed in touch with several good friends I made there.  It was a great place to be stationed and really had a wonderful time.  I was back in Apr. 2005 and drove around what is left of the base.  All the male dorms have been torn down and the base is an industrial park.  I miss Parkbrau Pils and partying with my Bro.s.  It would be good to hear from old friends I have lost touch with.
