  1. I know people who have no side effects from it.  The big one you do have to watch for is weight gain, and that can happen slowly over time.  Limit your sugar and carb intake and it shouldn't be a problem.  I personally retained water on it almost immediately, so I didn't stay on it long.

  2. Hi,

The problem with prescribed olanzapine or over the counter medicines is not only their lack of effectiveness, but also the detrimental side effects. The combination of Frankincense, Lavender, and Lemon Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils, taken internally, is an effective natural solution to anxiety, bipolar and others. Applying Lavender to the bottoms of your feet before going to bed can ensure a better nights sleep.

We have seen amazing results from using essential oils. To learn more go to www.mydoterra.com/doterraoils

    Good Luck,

CAUTION!!! Even though there are hundreds of essential oils available, even at the health food store, they are not all of the same standard in purity and potency.

  3. When I took Zyprexa I gained fifteen pounds.

My doctor let me switch to another medication because I told him I didn't want to gain weight. I already felt bad enough about myself. I didn't need to have any more reasons to hate myself. Please be careful with your weight.  Good Luck.

  4. I am bipolar.  When I was in the hospital several years ago, they wouldn't release unless I agreed to meds that would help control my mood swings.  They let me  look up all the different meds that they wanted to prescribe.  Practically all of them had some side effects, especially diabetes. The one that seemed to have the least side effects was Zyprexa.  You probably felt a change for the better by now. I experienced almost an immediate difference.

But that wasn't all.  In a few weeks I ballooned up to 360 pounds.  I was already obese.  However, I developed a ravenous appetite.  Most of it was water weight.  I was taken off Zyprexa immediately and put on a different med.

I eventually was placed on Abilify, which helped, and the doctor added Lamictal.  Lamictal has been a wonder drug for me.  I no longer have to take Abilify which was slowing my thinking too much.

I always talk medication changes over with my psychiatrist and I ask a lot of questions.  This has always benefitted me.  I recommend this strongly to anyone who takes prescription medications.

    God bless.

P.S.-I am exercising and watching my portions when I eat.  I am now down to 295 pounds.  I may have to put a few more holes in my belt. :-)
